Edit: Atlus removed the voices present in Japanese console version's story mode, but kept the voices used in battle.I don't give a damn about the politics behind it, that's fucking weak. It probably came down to a 'it wouldn't have come out at all if they'd left them in' situation, which is inane by itself and I refuse to take it as any sort of justification. While I respect that there are a lot of hurdles when it comes to SCEA and their demands for localized titles, as a gamer I don't particularly care, and hearing about things like this just makes me not want to buy the game in a sort of spite. I can't think offhand of a recent Atlus dub that I've thought was bad, but I know I take issues with the voices you guys use sometimes, and you're one of the companies putting out the most effort in this regard. Or, you know, people prefer the original Japanese voices, and that's their right. If 'undubs' are being used as an excuse for piracy, then that's wrong, and there's no other way to look at if. If I own the game, and then also want to get a version where fans have put back in the Japanese voices, that should be my right. I like the voice acting in Persona 3 (well, for the most part), but with the game being so Japanese in theme, I can completely understand why somebody would want to play through the game with Japanese voices. Hell, I'd like the chance to try it that way. Seriously, though.

If there's one game where even my possible pro-undub stance completely fades away, it's Final Fantasy XII. That's one of those cases like the Metal Gear Solid series where I think the English voices are unquestionably superior. Hell, Fran's voice actress alone made me not even be able to think about wanting to play the game with Japanese voices.

One of the reasons i was able to slog through the original xenosaga was a great vocal cast (us version), but when they changed half the cast for II i was pretty irked, and on top of that it sucked extra hard.
