Acer Travelmate 4650 Drivers

Sep 17, 2014. The Acer Aspire 5742Z laptop is an upgraded version of the older Acer Aspire 5741Z. This laptop was released in 2011 and much like all notebooks and laptops released in 2011 this one only came with two operating systems being Windows 7 as well as Windows 8. The all black laptop was a good seller. View full Acer TravelMate 4601LCi specs on CNET. Acer TravelMate 4601LCi - 15' - Pentium M 730 - Win XP Pro - 512 MB RAM - 60 GB HDD Series Specifications. Once Windows 10 was available for Downloading the Upgrade, I did so on all 3 Laptops. The Upgrade to Windows 10 went off without a hitch. After the Window 10 setup was complete, I now have problems with two of the Laptops not being able to connect to my WiFi. If I went into the Room the Router is in I could connect as long as I was no more than 5 feet away, anything further, I'd loose the signal. I had NO PROBLEM connecting anywhere in my 1200 square foot house with Windows 8 or 8.1 (I could even connect at my neighbors house across the street with 8 and 8.1)! I tried Running the Trouble Shooter and it didn't help.

I tried updating Drivers from Acer, Qualcomm Atheros and Microsoft, none of them would work any better then the last, still a 5 foot maximum distance! I did remove the previous Driver before installing the next! I see this is a very common problem after the Windows 10 Upgrade! I see it's not just Acer Computers, but looks to be every brand out there having the problem. It doesn't look to be just one particular WiFi Card Manufacturer either!

I'm at a loss as to why 2 of our Laptops didn't work but the 3rd did work when all 3 laptops had the same Qualcomm Atheros AR5B222 WiFi/BT Card. I took one of these WiFi Cards and put it in my older Acer Aspire 5742z-4601 Laptop that's upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit! The same card that wouldn't work after the Win10 upgrade in the Acer Aspire V5 573p-6896 does work in the Win10 upgraded Acer Aspire 5742z-4601, why? Need to get these Laptops going ASAP!

These Cards Worked when the computers had Windows 8 64-bit or Windows 8.1 64-bit for the Operating System. Two of three of them stopped working once upgraded to Windows 10 64-bit. These three computers are all identical Acer Aspire V5 573p-6896 Laptops! I took one of these cards out of the V5 573p-6896 and installed it in an Older Acer Aspire 5742z-4601 Laptop. This Acer Aspire 5742z-4601 Laptop was also Upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. The Card that wouldn't work in the Acer Aspire V5 573p-6896 did work in the Acer Aspire 5742z-4601!
